FARGO — Gander Outdoors CEO Marcus Lemonis has confirmed that the former Gander Mountain store in Fargo has not made the final list of stores that will be reopening, although five in Minnesota will open by spring.
In a Periscope video posted on his Twitter page Wednesday, Jan. 3, Lemonis went through the final list of stores he said will eventually be reopening as Gander Outdoors, formerly Gander Mountain.
Fargo was not included in that list, however four Minnesota locations will open their doors by spring in Hermantown, Forest Lake, Baxter and Bemidji, Lemonis said in the video. The Minnesota-based retail store already opened one of its rebranded locations on Wednesday, Dec. 14, in Lakeville.
According to previous reports, the Fargo Gander Mountain location was closed due to an uncooperative landlord. In a June 30, 2017, tweet, Lemonis said “Land not affordable” and “Landlord not amendable.”
Lemonis, who also owns Camping World, bought Gander Mountain in the spring of 2017, when Gander Mountain was in bankruptcy proceedings.
